Age of marriage

The chart shows the fall in the percentage of girls aged 15-19 who are married in six Arab countries. And there is a table which shows the age of marriage for men and women in 14 countries.

In 1975 57% of girls age 15 to 19 were marred in the USE but it fell to 8 % in 1995. It was most striking fall. Libya comes after the UAE , it is also a dramatic fall. In 1973 it was 40% and it fell to 1% in 1995. In Kuwait there was also a dramatic fall. It fell from 38% in 1970 to 5% in 1996. And in Tunisia 11% in 1975 went down to 1% in 2001.

In Bahrain the first age of marriage in 28.4% for men and 25.6% for women. And in Kuwait it is 29.6% for men and 25% for women. Jordan is less than Kuwait at 28% for men and 24.5% for women. Lebanon percentage is close to Jordan. In oman it is very low , 24% for man and 20% for women. In Yemen and Iran it is the same. The UAE has 25.6% for man and 23% for women. Qatar is also close to UAE percentage . Iraq and Turkey are close in Women percentage which is 22% and in men it is the same.

In summary, I can see from the chart there is a very big fall in the percentage of women married. In the table I think all of them are in aged 15-19.
